HOMES & PROPERTY ‘Nigeria must join push for greener societies’

Maureen Ihua-Maduenyi
Nigeria needs to join other nations in the push for greener societies across the world, the Chief Executive Officer, Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited, Mr. John Irvine, has said.
“Developing countries seem to be waking up to environmental issues and climate change, and it is time to put Nigeria on the map as we push towards greener societies,” he said.
Irvine spoke at a beach clean-up exercise to mark the World Environment Day in partnership with the Kids Beach Garden, the first sustainable beach in the country where children learn about coastal life and the environment.
The event had about 800 students from the primary school level to the university, and volunteers who participated in cleaning up the beach, planting coconut trees, as well as series of fun activities that ranged from horse riding to volleyball.
“The state of the environment is determined by the choices we make, which will make a significant difference if we all did something; and the World Environment Day is geared towards bringing these issues to the fore,” Irvine said.

They will accompany his body back to the Ivory Coast on Wednesday, where a private funeral service will be held for family, including 50 brothers and sisters, and friends. Tiote’s loved ones and friends are still waiting for official confirmation of the cause of the former Anderlecht, FC Twente and Newcastle midfielder’s death. Fans also paid their respects outside the memorial venue, with an impressive R.I.P banner showing Tiote in a range of kits from his colourful career.

Accident In Lagos,5 Students In Coma,Others Injured(SEE Photos)

As shared by Adeyeye…… ‘This happened yesterday at the LASU-IYANA IBA Road and as at yesterday,  5 students were in coma and those who got injured at the head might develop mental disorder as reported. The NANS  Chairman (who was also in the bus) amidst tears told me this morning that a student activist has lost his leg. The worst thing about the whole fateful event is that the doctors in the various hospitals where they were mobilised to so as to fast track the treatment are not “doing anything” likewise the Lagos State Government they have links with. These students need help at the moment.I am on my way to LASUTH . Please Share!. More updates would come later on financial assistance as they (the parents of the victims and some student leaders) have raised and spent more than 100,000 naira since yesternight. Save lives’
